Maybe we are tackling a large project around the house that we don’t have much experience in. Or, perhaps our boss just asked us to tackle a new position or role that we aren’t confident in. Or maybe, we have decided that we need to get an education to be competitive in the marketplace. Any of these or other scenarios can find us frozen thinking about all of the unknown things that we are going to be facing. Before you know it, ‘deer in the headlights’, and not going anywhere.
- <H4> Listen, don’t let the enormity of your challenge stop you in your tracks. Of course you need at least some idea of the goal (a well defined goal definitely helps) to keep you pointed in the right direction, but you don’t necessarily have to know exactly what you are going to do or face every step of the way. At some point you have to have faith, see the next step, and take it boldly.

- <H4> Human nature lends itself to, well, self. We are basically born selfish. Let’s face it, from the very moment we take our first breath, we come into this world screaming me me me. And as a toddler, we don’t have to be taught how to say, ‘mine’.
- <H4> Interestingly, though, if we truly want to connect with people, we need to make it about them. If you really want to connect with someone, you have to listen more and talk less. And, when you do talk, your statements and questions need to be more about them than yourself. If you want someone to be interested in you, you will need to show interest in them. So basically, we have to fight our general nature and focus on the desires and needs of others. Easier said than done right! Be encouraged and no matter how many times you blow it, keep trying. It is very well worth it. The more you value them by putting them first, the more they will be willing to help you. And we all need help in order to be successful in any way. Be blessed.
